RECOMMENDATIONS

Essential tips to help you maximize your tour experience, irrespective of the date or season.

Because you are the star

We want you to look like never before

Choose your Colors!

The colors that look best against a starry sky are usually light colors, which contrast against the darkness of the night.

Among these, warm colors like yellow and orange stand out, as well as white and light blue which are also very striking.

We would also like to highlight the beauty of ponchos with typical Andean weavings. Not only do they serve as an additional layer of warmth, they also align with the local culture and spirit.

Because you matter to us

We want you to feel comfortable

For this, it is necessary to take the season into account

Winter (June to September)

Wear three layers, both for the top and bottom; temperatures around 0 Celsius degrees with some wind are expected. For this season, wearing gloves, gaiters, a hat, and scarf can make the difference between having a comfortable experience or suffering from the cold during the tour.

Summer (December to March)

Wear warm clothing and windbreaker, the temperature can drop to 9 degrees with some wind. Also pay attention to your leg clothing and footwear.

Effects of Weather Conditions and Lunar Phase

The service offered depends on several factors that we do not directly control, which we will list below:

  • • Weather conditions, particularly wind speed and cloudiness.

These conditions are self-evident and available on various free online services, which AtacamaStargazing monitors and uses as a reference forecast for decision-making to evaluate the suitability of tour conditions, and makes the decisions with a conservatively approach for the sake of creating the best possible experience.

However, these forecasts are not always entirely accurate and weather conditions can change during the operation of the tour. If this is the case, and astronomical observation is still possible, the astronomical tour will continue as normal and consequently will not be a reason for requesting a discount, compensation or any return.

  • • Moon phase and percent illumination.

AtacamaStargazing operates under full moon conditions, days on which the astronomical tour has a narrative and astronomical focus on the Moon, which will not be considered a deterioration of the moon-less tours and consequently will not be a reason for requesting a discount, compensation or any return.

You can check our service for more information about the Moon

Do your bit

FOOD SAFETY

Food Allergies

At AtacamaStargazing, we pride ourselves on providing unique and memorable astronomical tourism experiences in the amazing north of Chile. We want to share with you an important notice relating to our attention to passengers with dangerous allergies that join our exciting regular tours.

We understand the importance of adapting to the individual needs of our visitors, and we deeply care about your safety and comfort. However, it is fundamental that our future passengers be aware of our limitations to customize menus and experiences during our regular tours.

Unfortunately, due to the general configuration of our regular tours, we cannot offer a menu customized specifically for those with dangerous allergies. In this regard, we want to ensure that those travelers suffering from dangerous allergies are prepared and take the necessary precautions before joining our experiences.

It is important to note that, in our commitment to maintain high safety standards, we do not have emergency care centers located less than 120 km from the location of our tours. Therefore, we strongly recommend that those with dangerous allergies take the necessary precautions before joining our tours. The responsibility of personal care in relation to allergies falls on each passenger.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding in this matter, and we reiterate that we will continue working to provide exceptional experiences to all our valued visitors. If you have any additional queries or would like more information on how to prepare for our tour, do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

We eagerly look forward to welcoming you to AtacamaStargazing for an unforgettable adventure under the starry sky of northern Chile!
